Jamie Ensor

Jamie Ensor is a Newshub political reporter based in Wellington's Parliamentary Press Gallery.


After studying journalism at AUT, Jamie began his career at Newshub in 2017 in the studio as an autocue operator and then interned at Newshub Nation, a politics and current affairs television show. He joined the digital team in 2018 and reported on a number of major news events, including NZ and US elections, the Grace Millane murder trial, the Christchurch shooting, and the COVID-19 pandemic.


Jamie joined the Press Gallery as Newshub's digital political reporter in 2022, responsible for the Newshub website's political coverage. He also has experience as a television reporter, including with packages and live crosses.

Exclusive: Only 17 fines handed out to gang members breaching patch ban laws since 2016

Newshub can reveal that over the past eight years just 17 fines have been handed out under laws that ban gang patches in government buildings. Whether a red bulldog, a fist or a flaming skull, gang patches are banned in Government buildings like schools and hospitals. Legislation passed in 2013 was intended to limit gang intimidation and give police powers to seize patches.
